Update Of Ze Life And Other Stuff I Guess

*Tumbles in* Wow, it's been a while... I can't say for sure whether after this I'll be back completely or just dropping in occasionally, who knows.

Here's an update anyway.

Life

So to bring most people up to speed, back in.... what, April? (or you know, just read the previous post) I decided I wasn't particularly coping very well with how I was handling the Life Things™ plus keep up with my "schedule".

I made myself look through the list of things that I was struggling to keep up with; namely upkeeping this blog with decent content I was happy with, reading and commenting on other people's amazing posts; annnd my pitiful word count on Camp Nano and just dreadful writing problems in general.

And so, feeling massively overwhelmed from trying to match this stuff with my more important responsibilities, I decided the best method would be to step back and leave for it a few weeks or so. Just enough time for me to figure what on earth I was doing in my 'suddenly-I'm-an-adult' life.

Ha. Hahahahaha.

*wipes away tear of mirth*

Five months later...

That went as well as could be expected! Turns out, taking away something I really enjoyed doing didn't help in the slightest. That's not to say my posting schedule will go back to completely normal after this post... More like I'll write when I can, or really need to procrastinate finishing my course asssesments.

Oh, speaking of that-- I'm studying online with TAFE now! Decided university wasn't really going to be my thing (literally the only thing I was otherwise interested in was art, and that's way cheaper to learn how to do myself.) And so yeah, because I love being around little kids (barring the times when they make me feel old of course xP Jk jk.), I'm studying to get a diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Whether that means I'll work in a daycare or become a nanny (or au pair) remains to be seen. I need to finish it first...

And so yeah, I'm also acting as a step-in mother duck currently... So if that doesn't help throw me off the cliff of any preplanned schedule for anything whatsoever, and right into the sea of "how do I do the life thing properly".... I don't know what will!

I mean... not that I'm complaining or anything! Sadly the cute stage doesn't particularly last long however... As of posting this, she'll probably almost be completely white.

At first we started of with 'Tiny Thing' for a name, since I wasn't sure if it'd be a drake or a hen and well, because she was so flipping tiny. Annnd also because that's what the wolves called the baby in the super cute movie 'Storks'.

I've actually caught her honking away quietly to herself on numerous occassions-- blissfully unaware she totally crushed my dreams of calling her 'Galavant'. So I need to go find girly names now of course... Oh woe is me. ;P

OH, and to add on to all of the above!!

Just chillin out in a place that is not my room.

Meet Rigby...!

A chihuahua doggo.

We actually have a dog now... O-o (Don't worry, he and the duckling get along surprisingly well. Despite the fact we don't let him close enough to actually nom on her.) 

Now I know, I know.... When people say 'Chihuahua' the words 'bratty', 'bossy', 'bug-eyed' and 'little-dog-syndrome' often also come to mind.

Annnnnnd I can tell you that two out of four of those are absolutely correct...

But! He is a dear little gentleman most of the time (when we don't have guests that is), and we love him to pieces. He has his sweet and adorable moments-- despite the constant band-aids. No regrets whatsoever. :)

Yes, a "selfie". He was being too flippin cute and I was home alone.

MOVING ON.

I suppose that's enough talk about mah life, aSIDE FROM THE FACT THAT I HAVE A MANDOLIN NOW! WOOT. I'm very proud of my Mandy, and apperantly I'm not too shabby at playing it. So it's always good to know I'm not damaging people's hearing while strumming 'Drunken Sailor' like a maniac :D

Okay, moving on for real this time...

Art

I was gonna say I haven't actually done a whole lot of art in the time I was M.I.A but then ah... I realized I actually had and it was mostly art of an awesome friend's OC and my OC, Ben and Brinley.

I mean... Sure, I did other stuff... but in all honesty, I'm not as happy with them as I am with these cuties:

In reference to a charrie chat in which Brinley "died" (but didn't) and well... it's complicated. I probably shouldn't explain any further, otherwise we may just be here for years. (Trust me, I've tried. I had to invent a time machine just so I could go back and make up for all the lost time I spent on it xD)

That's my best guess for their height... in the previous picture, I suppose Brinley may have been standing on a brick!

Annnnnnd we should move on to the other part.

I... honestly dunno what to put here?

Well, shoot. I guess I better go and find some awful snippets and stumble over my words trying to explain them...

Mrs Auguste hesitated. Glancing back to Brinley in 'concern' before looking back to the woman and giving a faint nod. 

“No… nonono! Mrs Auguste, please! You’re making a mistake!” Brinley yelled, kicking at the man harder. “She’s not a doct—”

“Oookay, goodnight.” Dr Emerton interrupted cheerfully, stepping forward and pressing the needle as precisely as possible into Brinley’s arm, ignoring the girl's terrified gasp of pain. She leaned in closer to Brinley, speaking quietly. “Talk to you later, kiddo.” 

Whatever it was, it hit her fast. Already she could feel her eyelids getting heavier and heavier. The ground swayed beneath her feet and if the man hadn’t still been holding her up, she would’ve fallen on her face. Which would be rather embarrassing, she decided. She took in a breath, looking down at her hands. Oh gosh, she couldn’t even feel her fingers. Or toes. They were still there, right? Unable to fight the drowsiness any longer, she barely managed one last glare up at the doctor. 

“ ‘hate you… so much.” Were her final words before everything went dark.

Messy first draft? Check.

Did I proofread? I mean, I kinda tried...

Symptoms medically correct? Haha, probably not.

This was for my Camp Nano project (and Life-Long-(Probably) Project), Guardian Angel. I did a few other posts, sorta explaining the story here. (I couldn't find the other ones...) But yeah, essentially it's a sorta crime/mystery thing... mixed with odd, but not entirely unhelpful superpowers.

Brinley is the MC and the Dr Emerton lady is-- big surprise here-- the villain, under a fake name kidnapping her. Or Anti-hero. I can't remember. But yeah, sorry, I'm awful at explaining stuff, so feel free to wander over to the post I linked up above!

I've managed to get a good deal of the plotting and character-arc planning written down, and soon I'm not going to have a decent excuse for writing everything out of order and throwing in seemingly random moments everywhere...


ANYWAY. I have no idea how to end this... I've kinda run out of ideas of stuff to talk about, so uh.... yeah.... Until next time!
