The 'Solve this Riddle' Tag

Well, here I am with another blog post after only two months this time! Yay! What an amazing accomplishment...

Hmm... I seem to have a small habit of starting my blog posts like that but oh well...

1.Copy and paste the image onto your post.

'Kay, done that... Next!

2. Copy and paste these rules onto your post.

Err... Yes, I do believe I just did that.

(I''ll just put them here for those who want to read them without me interrupting each time)
1.Copy and paste the image onto your post
2. Copy and paste these rules onto your post
3. Thank the person who tagged you.
4. Answer the 5 riddles that are provided by the lovely person who tagged you.
5. Tag 5 or more bloggers.
6. Provide 5 different riddles in your post for the people you tagged.
7. Comment the link to your post on each blogger's blog or let them know in some way or another.
8. After a week from when posting this tag, comment the answers to your riddles on your own post.

3. Thank the person who tagged you.

Thank you so very much Jane and Clare!

4. Answer the 5 riddles that are provided by the lovely person (or people, in my case) who tagged you.

Jane's Riddles:

1: This old one runs forever, but never moves at all. He has not lungs nor throat, but still a mighty roaring call. What is it?

Hmm... I think I know the answer to this one!

2: What meets you at the end of everything?

 I might have an answer for this one.

3: What do the letter 'T' and an island have in common?

Not sure to be honest...

4: What has a head, a tail, is silver and has no legs?

...I may need to recruit Zach's help... Thank you Zach :)

5: What do you throw out when you want to use it, but take in when you don't want to use it?

I know! I know! At least I think I know...

Clare's Riddles:

Riddle One: A man went on a trip with a fox, a goose and a sack of corn. He came upon a stream which he had to cross and found a tiny boat to use to cross the stream. He could only take himself and one other - the fox, the goose, or the corn - at a time. He could not leave the fox alone with the goose or the goose alone with the corn. How does he get all safely over the stream?

Isn't one of these a bird that can swim? I have no idea...

Riddle Two: A farmer in SA owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase and ask if he can pick it up in five days time. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has exactly 12 boughs and each bough has exactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?

And I thought I was finished math for the day... Luckily I had a Zach with me!

Riddle Three: Why was the belt arrested?

Ahahaha.... I have absolutely "no clue."

Riddle Four: You heard me before
Yet you hear me again
Then I die
'till you call me again

'Might know and I might not... This could be a lot of things.

Riddle Five: Can an English man legally marry his widow's sister?

Wait-a-minute...

5. Tag 5 or more  bloggers (Please please please don't tag me back!).

I hereby nominate Corey at CJR Odyssey!

(I'm just gonna ignore the "5 or more" part of that rule...)

6. Provide 5 different riddles in your post for the people you tagged.

The First: There were 10 horses and 9 paddocks. How do you fit all 10 horses in the paddocks with only 1 allowed in each paddock?

The Second:  When you don't have enough of me, you feel a kind of gloom. But when you are using me, it is time that you consume. What am I?

The Third: Imagine you are swimming in the middle of the ocean and a bunch of hungry sharks surround you. How do you get out alive?

The Fourth: A man who couldn't speak went into a store to buy a toothbrush. He pretended to brush his teeth with his finger to tell the cashier what he wanted. The cashier understood and the man went home with the toothbrush. Then, a blind man came into the store wanting to buy sunglasses. How could he tell the cashier he wanted sunglasses?

The Fifth: What has rivers but no water, forest but no trees and cities but no people?

Have fun! (If you decided to do it, that is... I ain't forcing you to do it :) )

7. Comment the link to your post on each blogger's blog or let them know in some way or another.

Done.

AND NOW FOR THE ANSW--

8. After a week from when posting this tag, comment the answers to your riddles on your own post.

Oh, not right now? Okay then...

See you next post! (Whenever that will be...)

* Our Snowy Adventure *

Entry #1

Excited, we waved our grandparents goodbye as they had come down for a visit and to look after animals while we were away. I had left them a nice list of stuff to do so that they didn't get too bored!

We left home around 12:30 pm, leaving Mama and Papa to take care of all the animals.
It took us about four hours (since Zach was driving) to get to our Aunt's and Uncle's (and little cousins')  house in Sydney, where we stayed the night. The girls went to bed pretty much straight after dinner along with the cousins (or at least they were supposed to... Hyper cousins and siblings and all that...)

Before going to sleep, Zach and I got to watch both of the the hilariously funny Johnny English movies .

Entry #2

I woke up around 7:30 am... I reckon I would have been asleep for much longer if I wasn't sleeping in the lounge-room. It was connected to the dining room, which was also to the kitchen, so when people began to get up, they moved into these rooms  to get breakfast and watch TV... To be fair they did keep the volume low-ish but it still woke me up, or was that my little cousin innocently trying to trample me? I can't remember.

After we had eaten breakfast and had packed the car, we bid our farewell's and after a quick prayer for safe travels, we left approximately at 10:30 am.

We spent about six hours in the car (while breaking for lunch somewhere in-between, of course) listening to music and reading questions from lolly wrappers to each other.

We also drove right through the ACT and back into NSW at some-point which I reckon was really cool.

At long last, we finally drove up the drive-way into 'Snowy Dream Motel' in Berridale.
It was quite a nice place.. Small, but very nice and comfy. They had two pairs of bunk beds lining the wall, a comfy couch, a TV, a fridge (very important! Although.. it didn't have anything interesting in it sadly...) and a lovely little coffee table that we used as a dining table.

When dinner came around, we ate the pasta salad that mum had prepared before we had even left home, along with the drinks dad had bought along... After that we mostly watched TV and then went to bed.

Entry #3

We left the motel roughly around 8:50 am and piled into the car for a 20 minute drive to a ski hire store…We stopped there to pick up some ski gear that dad hired (well, duh) and somehow had to fit it all in the car. We then drove a further rough 30 minutes to get to Thredbo, River Inn (awesome name) and Thredbo Ski runs. P.S We also crossed the Snowy River!
We parked the car and hurried out to see all the snow… Except there wasn’t actually that much… Most of the snow was on the ski slope. (Or at least what we could see.)

We watched other people (There was heaps and heaps of people there) skiing for a bit and then we went to get our own gear so we could do our own skiing.

Back at the car we strapped on our slightly uncomfortable boots and attempted to walk (normally) back to the slope while carrying our other ski gear. It was slightly tricky getting the boots to attach to the skis but after about three or so times of doing it, I think I got the hang of it… Getting the boots to attach to the skis that is, the actual skiing… Well, that was much harder!
At first, before we actually started skiing, I was pretty much all “I can’t wait!”, “Hooray! Skiing!” and “This is going to be awesome!”

Hahahahahahaha... Ha. Ha.

Nope.

I was “alright” (as Dad said) the first go… Had a small fall but that was completely normal since we were on the “Easy Does It” slope and there were heaps of people falling over. I don’t like going really fast and I had asked Dad how to go much slower while skiing and it seemed sort of simple but when I actually went down the hill it didn’t seem to work and I went pretty fast… Not so fun for me… I tried stopping but so far, for me, the only way to stop was to fall over. Although I fell over more by accident but oh well.

I was very hesitant to go up the hill again but Dad wouldn’t take an “I don’t think I want to ski anymore..” as a ‘no’ and marched me back up the slope.  I wasn’t amused and wouldn’t go until Zach went, Jasmine went, Dad went and then Dad and Zach came back up and then Zach went again and Dad practically had to push me off.

I think I must have done something wrong the last time I was trying to slow down because I was much better at it the second time… Maybe because I was skiing across the slope and not down it… Ah well.

Morning tea consisted of  hot chocolate and freshly cooked donuts...
Yum!
Anyway, after skiing and having had some morning tea, we checked in at the River Inn and unpacked the car. After that was done, we watched the second half of the movie Dad bought and then watched the news afterwards.

After that, we decided we should probably get ready for dinner and when we were all ready to go, Ally decided to throw up. You heard me. She threw up in the middle of our hotel room… Not that anyone was upset with her or anything… Truth be told she had been feeling pretty sick all day (the poor dear).

And then after THAT was cleaned up and Ally was feeling a bit better, we went down to a very nice, but crowded looking restaurant. I had fish n’ chips, Zach had cottage pie, Jas had the same as me, Mum had the same only with salad, Ally had potato and leek soup and Dad had spaghetti bolognaise… It was very filling that’s for sure!

For desert, there was either jelly or ice-cream (with assorted sprinkles and sauces)… Jasmine must have had a bit too much, because she has been on a hyper rampage ever since! While we were still at the table, Zach had thought I had also had a bit too much ice-cream.

Pfffft… I would know if I was hyper, thank you very much!

Anyway, we went back to the room and are ready to get some sleep so I’ll leave it at that.

P.S it was around 3 degrees Celsius today! Brrr!

Entry #4

I woke up around 7:50 am  and after wandering around the room trying to get all my stuff together, and then having to wait for the bathroom to be free, I was finally ready for breakfast. We hurried down to the River Inn Restaurant. I say “hurried” because Mum was worried that we would be too late and the restaurant would be closed so that they could set up for lunch… Luckily, we pretty much had perfect timing because the main breakfast-time rush was over and there were heaps of tables free.

For breakfast, they served baked beans, bacon, hash browns (my favourite!), cooked mushrooms, scrambled eggs, and assorted bread for toast. Oh, and fruit juice.
After we finished, we headed down to where the ski gear was stored and collected our gear, we headed back to the ski slope.

The second time round for skiing was definitely much better than the first since I figured out how to go slower… Yup, I think I can ski now… Hooray! (I think this holiday activity went much better than the snorkeling holiday activity.)

We skied for a few, very fun hours and then we decided (after having freshly made donuts and hot chocolate) to go to the Snow Play Park so we could go tobogganing and maybe build a snowman.

The tobogganing was great, a bit scary on the first try since there was so many little kiddies about the place and it was very hard to steer. I ended up letting Zach, Jasmine and Ally have a few goes until I was brave enough to try it again…This time when there were less kiddies running around.

It’s not very fun looking down the slope when in the toboggan but when you push off it's quite fun!

From left to right: Jas, Frank, Me, Dad and Ally

And then you have to lug it back up the hill all over again…

 Fast forwarding a bit, Jasmine and Dad made a very nice-looking Snowman that Jasmine decided to call ‘Frank’ for some weird reason… I wonder how long he will last until someone knocks him over. After the snowman –Oops, sorry… After Frank had been built and while we were leaving, Ally was pelted with snowballs from Dad and Jas… She absolutely loved it (sarcasm intended.)

We caught the courtesy bus back to the River Inn and Dad and I decided to do a little bit more skiing before it got too dark (this was around 3:30 pm) and possibly too cold. Mum and the others decided to stay in the hotel room and just relax since they were either too tired or weren’t feeling too good.

Dad and I had a great time and I almost fell over only about… twice, I think? Anyway, that’s not really important!

After skiing, we came back to the hotel room and watched TV (Mostly the News though…very boring) until it was time for dinner.

For dinner, we went back to the very same resturaunt as before only this time we had pizza! (Dad’s favourite!) When Dad ordered the pizza, he received a strange little black piece of technology that would supposedly tell us when the pizza was ready.

We waited.

And waited…

And waited some more...

 It took a long time but I reckon the wait was definitely worth it! The pizza was absolutely delicious and I jokingly said to mum that after that, I didn’t think I would be happy with eating the other kind of pizzas we usually get back at home.
We finished our meal happily and then walked back upstairs to our room. Where we then sorted out our tomorrow traveling clothes (as it would be our last day then) and with a promise of a movie, we got into our pyjamas and hopped into bed.
And now, at 10:14 pm, I want to go to sleep.
Goodnight!

 P.S It was a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 today.

Entry #5

Today, we woke up around seven-something-a.m. and just pretty much wandered around the room, slowly trying to pack our stuff up so we would be out by 10:00am.  Since Zach, Dad and Mum hadn’t had a very good sleep; we ended up taking much longer than usual to get everything back the way it had been when we had first arrived. I reckon the room would have looked much nicer if Jasmine hadn’t bought her leaking feathery pillow…

Once we had packed mostly everything in the car, Dad took the younger girls for one last ski before we left. Mum went up the slope with them to take pictures leaving Zach and I to wait around in the guest lounge room because I had decided it would be too much bother to have to get changed, and Zach just didn’t feel well enough to ski.

We played naughts and crosses for a while (or at least until all my strategies were too predictable and I got bored) and then used Zach’s phone to play chess. We didn’t finish it though… I kind of got bored with it when Mum came back inside to show us the videos of Ally and Jasmine skiing….

Jasmine’s pretty much a maniac (Surprising? Not really…). She goes very fast (according to me, that is,) and crash lands at the bottom often narrowly missing people.  She even finds their reactions amusing apparently.
Ally’s a little better; she still goes faster than me but she seems more in control than Jas is, that’s for sure!

Once they had finished, they got changed out of the snow and ski gear and put on their travelling clothes. Mum and Zach somehow managed to fit all of the gear nicely in to the car and soon enough we were heading back the way we came!

We stopped at the Berridale Inn for lunch of which we had three small bowls of yummy hot chips and some fruit juice. We were soon on the road once again and didn’t stop until we reached Alivio Tourist Park in Canberra… The trip as a whole took about two and a half hours, which was nice as I like being able to relax in the car with my blanket and pillow… Something I most likely won’t be doing as much whenever I start driving.

Zach and Mum unpacked the car (Only getting the stuff we actually needed this time) while Jas, Ally and I explored our cabin, attempting to claim beds.  After beds had been claimed and Mum rearranged to what she thought was fair, we sat down on the only three-seater couch and watched TV while Dad went to the local IGA to get some eggs for a noodle omelette and some other stuff for lunch the next day.

Tired, we went and changed into our pyjamas and went to bed… Or we kids tried to at least, since we were all in the same bedroom and Jas couldn’t stand the door being closed and Zach really didn’t want it to be open. Eventually (after too much crying from Jas), Zach caved in and opened the door slightly so we all could finally get some sleep.

Entry #6

Today I woke up…. ‘Nuff said.

Just kidding! I mean, I did wake up but that’s not the only cool thing that happened today…

We went to Parliament House! Yay!

It’s absolutely huge and it took us at least fifteen minutes to get from where we parked to the front door (or side door as it were). Once there, we went through a metal detector and into the awesome looking main hall. Everything was pretty much made out of marble, the stairs, the walls, and the floor for example. It was very fancy looking.
See? Marble was everywhere!

We put Dad’s backpack and Mum’s handbag in the cloakroom because we had to if we wanted to go into the green room (Otherwise known as the “House of Representatives Chambers”). I have to admit, it definitely is much more interesting to listen to them chatting away when you’re actually there and not watching them on TV…

After a little while, (and mainly because we were on a tight schedule due to limited time for parking) Mum and Dad decided to take us to the Red Room (Otherwise known as the “Senate Chambers”) where they were talking about the refugees and asylum seekers coming to Australia and what-not. It was very interesting!

 If I was to point out my favourite part of going to Parliament House, it would probably be finding the Australian copy of the Magna Carta. Not to mention we also saw the pool of reflection and went up to the roof for an awesome view of Canberra. It was not listening to some politician talk to a bunch of school kids about which football teams they all supported!

We left sometime around midday (thankfully not forgetting to retrieve the bags from the cloakroom) to go to the….

National Museum of Australia! Yay!

Like the Parliament House, the national museum was also massive! I was so excited to take a look at everything that I was very impatient when Dad stopped to take pictures but now as I write this, I’m quite glad that he did otherwise I wouldn’t have anything to show off!

Ally with Pharlap's Heart.
I love going to museums… Just looking at all the old stuff and knowing it’s actually there right in front of me is very exciting! Like Pharlap’s heart for instance, it was actually there and just as big as my favourite books had said. Not to mention there was also a giant old windmill, an awesome tapestry of Red Riding Hood and the wolf, a very old rusty sea anchor and a whole heap of other cool stuff.

After we had spent about two and a half hours there, we decided to move on to the next place (much to my disappointment) after we had picked up our bags from the museum cloakroom.

Ally posing with Nova Peris's gold medal.

Next up was the Royal Australian Mint!

Royal Australian Mint

My first impression was pretty much: Good grief, why is everything official in Canberra so darn big?

Jasmine was very excited at seeing money everywhere.

We went inside and saw much to our surprise, a over flowing bucket of one dollar coins!

Not to mention there was large multi-coloured plastic replicas of coins hanging from the ceiling and hundreds of five-cent pieces in the stairs...

Since Mum was very tired and didn't feel up to walking around the Mint, Dad took us up the stairs to where we would be able to see where and how money was minted.

We watched a small, but interesting, introductory video in a small theater room and then walked around, mostly just looking at stuff.

Jasmine pointing out the hundreds of five-cent coins in the stairs.

My favourite thing there was the microscopes where we would get to look at 20c, 50c and a dollar coin close up. (Not crazy close up though. Not on the molecular level!)

Jasmine admiring her fingernails.

At one point, Jas got a bit bored of looking at the coins and decided to just look at her fingers instead... Well, I guess you could say she saw an opportunity and took it.

Oh, and they made a tiara! It was very pretty.

  After we had finished sight-seeing like good old, proper tourists, we headed back to Sydney where we stayed the night and headed home the next day! (After, of course, we visited heaps of little Asian grocery shops and what-not.)

End Journal.

Marching on ANZAC Day!

Well, after 5 months I have finally decided to just get on with it and do another Blog post!

First of all, I'm sorry that this post is five or six days late (can't remember which) but at least I have a reasonable excuse. On Monday night we had returned home from a grand old time at band practice. After eating a delicious dinner and drinking a lovely cup of hot chocolate it wasn't very long before I wasn't feeling very well.
After unsuccessful attempts at trying to go to sleep I had to get up. I stumbled down the stairs, made my way to the 'plastics cupboard' (where our family keeps all the plastic tubs) and started rummaging through it searching for a decently sized bowl. Minutes after I found one, oh.... well never mind... you probably don't really want to know the rest! Talk about timing.

Nearly all of the next day -when I was supposed to be writing this blog post and doing all my schooly stuff- I spent lying on the couch in my uncomfortable misery. As one might expect, it wasn't very fun.

Anyway, I'm feeling much better now (Thank you for asking) so I had better get on with the actual post.

ANZAC Day! Or to be slightly more specific; The ANZAC Day Parade!

Such beautiful horses!
Now, I know ANZAC Day is all about ANZACs; retired and active servicemen in our military and its heritage and contribution to society, but this blog post is written from my perspective of the  day, and how I participated in it.

After four weeks of marching practice (just the Monday nights, not every single day!) -three of which we marched on the spot in the hall and one of marching around the 'Bunnings Warehouse' parking lot after closing time. The actual day came around. The band assembled in a small car park sometime before 10:30 am (when the actual march started, I think) so we could put together our instruments and wrestle with the pesky lyres (if needed to be put together in the first place that is), don  our awesome fancy formal marching hats (I forget what they are called), collect our music and then 'form up' in the car park for one last quick practice before the march.

'Left. Left. Left, right, left.'

After that, we all headed over to the starting point so that we could line up with the veterans, soldiers and various schools and organizations (such as the Red Cross). A bit later, a minute or so after two late people had to hurriedly line up where ever they could and then we were away!

If I remember correctly, we marched in a straight-ish  (as we had to avoid some horsey contributions) line for a while, then we went around a roundabout,  under a bridge and  counter-marched into the SES drive way/ parking lot. We kept playing while the rest of the parade marched by and then "stepped off" (a fancy way to walk out of our marching lines, I think.)

We then crossed the road to the Civic Center and sat down in the waiting chairs to have a quick drink and then watch the ANZAC Day service, playing a piece of music here and there, including the national anthem.

After that, we packed up our instruments and after catching up some friends, we had to walk all the way back to the car. It was a great day (Not to mention the fact that this was the 100th anniversary!) but to be honest I'm glad its over... No more marching practice until next year!

Baby Call Ducks!

Four months and not counting anymore! Why? Because here is another Blog post! Yay!

Anyway, to the point, I finally got my baby call ducks... introducing... Mocha and Latte!

They super friendly and sweet and love a good cuddle. I can't think of any other way to describe them so:

"I love them, they love me, we're a happy family.
I give them great big hugs and they kiss me on the nose. Don't you dare say I don't love those."

Ahem. Anyway, all this affection from these babies is quite tiring considering most of the chicks, ducklings and baby quail we raise usually don't like me very much. Don't get me wrong, I love them heaps! It's just a bit hard to type, or do my school work for that matter, while both ducklings are having a nap in my hands.

They love bouncing. Last night, whenever I needed to step away from the box they were living in to get them something like food or refresh their water, I would have to exit the room backwards. This was so that if they decided to jump out of their box and on to my desk or the floor I would at least be there to put them back in (So far they have both missed the desk and ended up on the floor, the poor things). After a while of watching the babies trying to jump out I ended up having to station a guard to watch and comfort them in my place. Finally, I came up with the (now) obvious solution of giving them a roof. Doh!
In case you were wondering, Call Ducks are basically like the chihuahua's of the duck world, except without the buggy eyes...
Not to mention that the fact that when they are a bit older, these babies will be able to fly. That's why I am 'working so hard' on this imprinting business... and I'll have to remember to clip their wings (Oh, what fun!).

Manu’s Adventures. (Chapter One, Part 2)

Chapter One - Part 2

Maisy poked her head above the canoe’s wall and frowned. She had asked Abigail earlier if she knew of any bug filled spots and naturally, Abigail had voted The Dam as the number one hotspot for bugs.. Maisy, of course, ran full on to The Dam to see all the bugs for herself (and eat them).

If only Abigail had mentioned that the bugs were water bugs... Maisy thought to herself with a touch of annoyance. She watched the little water bugs darting here and there in the water for a few more seconds and then frowned at them one last time before jumping out of the canoe to head back to the land of Backyard.
She carefully climbed down the steep hill and paused, seeing the entrance to the Backyard was blocked. She went around to the not-so-secret opening that went under the Human coop and through to Backyard.  Half way through, Maisy heard Manu’s (“Food!”) call and groaned.

She appreciated that Manu was looking out for her and all that but she was quite capable of looking after herself, being a good deal taller and faster. She was way faster than Manu who just seemed to ‘shuffle’ around. A small twinkle of satisfaction appeared in her eyes as she remembered how she had once mentioned that innocent little fact to Manu and how he had gotten into a silly little fit of denial. She looked around expecting Manu to pop up at any minute and start lecturing her about safety and list every single predator that wouldn't mind a chicken for a snack and sighed in relief as he didn't appear.
She sat down, deciding that there was no point in going further (just in case she ran into Manu).

It would be so nice…  She thought to herself If Manu would be so kind to mind his own- Is that an ant nest?!  She stood up and half ran, half walked over to the ant nest covered in nice fat juicy ants, Jackpot!  She smiled happily and flapped her wings in excitement.  Bon appetite!
~~~~
Manu looked down thoughtfully at the- What did the humans call it again? He stared at the steep hill trying to remember Oh yes…. The Cliffs of instances- No wait… The Cliffs of Insanity!  They had seemed very proud of the name at the time and laughed at each other, but personally, (having not seen movie- The Princess Bride) Manu didn't get it.  “I mean... Why not just name it “Cliff”?”  He muttered under his breath “Or clouds or grass hills… Why name it ‘Cliffs of Insanity’? That makes no sense at all.” He turned around to face the dam and strutted towards it. He jumped up onto the “Jetty Thing” and looked around.  Maisy isn't here either…. I wonder if she is avoiding me... He sat down on the jetty and sighed tiredly. His little booted legs were not very good at this walking-long-distances thing.
Ta da! New Blog Style!!
You may have noticed that my blog has changed! Or if you did not, have a good look around...
Yes, Zach did it all! Hehehehehehe... He kept complaining about the other one and how it just looked weird and horrible, so I just decided to let him have a go and needless to say, I wasn't disappointed (not one bit) and now, I'm calling them The Lumpy-Dumpy Clouds (he even added a lumpy-dumpy butterfly!) He also suggested that I should rename my blog to "Thoughts in the Lumpy-Dumpy clouds"... Truth be told, I'm thinking about it!
***UPDATE***
Guess what?!
I've found the blog description editor!!!
Manu’s Adventures
Chapter One
Things were at its peak for Manu, he had a safe place to call home, lots of lady friends, food was in abundance and the grass was green. Manu paused to take a deep breath of fresh air and did the best interpretation of a smile his beak could do… Life was great.
He hopped down from his perch in the “coop” -as the humans called it- and strutted off in search of food. After a few minutes, Manu spied the garden and quickened his pace to reach it faster. He hopped the last few paces and began to scratch the earth in search of grubs and worms. He kept at it for a minute or two and then clucked victoriously as he discovered a fat juicy grub and a worm.
“Should I share or keep it for myself?” He thought, “I’ll share…  Maybe if I'm lucky, Maisy will be here before the others!” He sighed dreamily. Manu had been trying to win the young hen’s heart ever since she arrived to Buholga but she had often refused him. “Well... Might as well keep trying.”  He reasoned and then began to cluck loudly, “I found food! I found food!” He called “Come on everyone!” he heard the hens running over to him and turned, his heart slowly sank as he realised Maisy was not with them and quickly had to jump out of the way as the stampede came too close.
 He watched as the hens fought over the yummy grub and decided to back away to find something else to munch on. “Or maybe I should look for Maisy… It’s not like her to miss a chance for some food.”
He frowned slightly and puffed up his chest a little “I should go look for her… What if she is in danger?”  Manu still wouldn't acknowledge the fact that he was, indeed, slightly shorter than Maisy and therefore not really in a good position to go “saving” her. He strutted off in the direction of Duck pen to see if she had decided to visit with Amelia Limpy Duck as they seem to have had formed a bond. He reached Duck pen safely enough a flapped his wings to gain the attention of Albert Drake there.
“Hullo Manu,” Albert waddled over to the wire mesh that separated himself and Manu “Is there anything I can help you with?” He asked curiously as Manu rarely ever visited him let alone talk to him. “Roosters and their air of importance...”  The drake thought to himself, “Stupid chickens…”
“Hello there Albert, I was just wondering if you have seen Maisy anywhere at all.” Manu asked “I found some food and she didn't come.” He added.
Albert did his best impression of an eye-roll “Oh, yes... So I heard.” He replied. It was hard not to hear Manu announcing that he had found food. “Maybe she just wasn't hungry?” Albert added simply. He turned quickly as he heard a rather loud splash and almost had a heart attack when he saw the little fluffy yellow ducklings in the human-made pond. He sighed in relief as he saw Abigail was there watching over them.
Manu looked a little crestfallen as he hadn't thought of that. “Oh... Do you think I should keep looking for her?” He asked.
